Facebook? What is Facebook? In this generation, there are a lot of social utility sites on the Internet such as Friendster, Myspace and obviously...Facebook. You can do whatever you want there such as find friends that you know, post blogs and basically just to socialize with people.

When I read that article, I was confused. I mean, we research things on the Internet. We sometimes talk on ICPs [Internet Chat Providers] such as Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo Messenger about homework but why can't we talk about it on a social utility site such as Facebook!? I find that the university fully over-reacted to the situation.

In my personal experience, study groups in real life are supposed to be able to help you with things you do not know and need assistance on. But isn't that practically the same as talking about it on the web? I find it stupid that they think they'd be cheating. They might as well ban normal study group plannings in libraries, etc. Assuming university student are busy, I think it may be hard for them to plan it out to go on a library and do work? So that's why they made a study group on the web about it? I personally do not know. But I feel that this is unjust.

Assuming that high school, university students or even people working use Facebook on a regular basis and sometimes can be improvised as their new ICP, I think that it can be really used as a tool for education. I mean, I myself check my Facebook account on a regular basis to check my wallposts, private messages and groups. Facebook has the potential to be an educational took, basically. If they implement some kind of educational section on Facebook, it can be really useful to people out there.
