After last year's art show - Recollect, here comes Echo: A call for nature. If you ever wonder on how the name of this year's art show, here is a short story:

"One of the art teachers: Mr. Notten asked one of the science teachers [Ms. Mac Isaac] for an idea about the name of this year's art show. She said Why don't you name it after my dog Eco?. Eco is a short term for Ecology but Mr. Notten gave in more thought about the name Eco and turned it into Echo. Which is why it's Ec(h)o! Basically a mixed meaning of Ecology and Echo.

Sad News: Ms. Mac Isaac's dog Eco died [Music Effect: Aww...]

Well, anyways back to the topic. Being an arts student, I was able to showcase a lot of my works in the art show. Sadly, my sculpture broke down before it can be shown in the art show and my quest unit's unfinished so I wasn't able to show all my works. It was a very stressing yet joyful experience for me. Starting from touring people in the art show to explaining each piece [I was able to practice my communication skills too!].

Well, let me talk about my painting. My painting is the grade 10 project which is called the Me Tree. It's a 5'00 tall painting and it has to say something about you. Well, it's about my thoughts flowing around my head. There is a pot/vase (image) with water coming out. It symbolizes my overflowing thoughts. The water is calm in the beginning yet in the end, it makes a splash. It can show how interesting or how my mind changes so quickly.

The figure of the woman means mother nature. I guess you can say it has a double meaning onto it. In my case though, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" which shows the eye that stands out. It means that mother nature is looking after us yet we don't look after her. Which can be an echo too.

I also helped out for my friend's group on the chair design (Image: Flora holding the mighty lightsaber!!). It was quite fun and I get to do something design-ey even though I didn't took design and still got an art credit for it!

My parents went to see my painting for the art show which was right in front of the Art Entrance [sorry to brag :D]. They met my teachers and saw Mrs. Powell and comes to this whole revelation of starting the course fresh late in the year [Okay, time to skip this topic...at least I'm glad I'm taking this course as I never knew I can enjoy this further].

The following Monday, it was the Art Show take down which is quite sad, honestly. But as my art teacher say "This art show is sooo...last season. Now time to set up ideas for next year's show!" It was awfully inspiring yet a lot of fun times. I even brought my buddy Steph to help us take down. We earned quest units anyways and it's fun.

I also have pictures of my inspirations, helpers and most of all - friends. I am so sorry if your picture with me is not here as we might not have taken one together. Don't worry. I still love you dearly.

But now, what is next year's art show going to be called? Mr. Notten is thinking of using Masquerade as next year's art show. Oopsie! I can't spill things anymore about next year's plan. You just wait and see!
